Our mission is to grant second chances. The Box That Gives collects school supplies and gives them new life by donating them to disadvantaged students, so that they have the power to take charge of their stories and write their futures.

About

For children in developing countries, having school supplies is life-changing.

School supplies mean a fair chance. They mean that students have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

For children who are impacted by poverty, it is difficult to succeed in school because they face the additional challenge of having to prioritize other needs before school supplies. This means that they cannot fully engage with their assignments and education, shutting doors toward future opportunities.

Our aim is to:

Give a 2nd chance to the school supplies that get discarded throughout the school year.

Give students a 2nd chance to embrace learning and discover what they are passionate about.

How it works:

Empty cardboard box opened isolated.

Inspired by the Filipino tradition of sending Balikbayan Boxes to family members in the Phillippines (parcels filled with gifts), The Box That Gives sends school supplies to students in need.

We work with schools in our local community to host drives where previously used school supplies can be donated. This includes crayons, pencils, shoes, and backpacks.

The items are then packed in boxes and sent overseas to help students in need, in collaboration with schools in developing countries.

Why donate?

Having school supplies erases a barrier to students' academic success, allowing them to dream big and hope for a better future. Your donation reminds them that there are people who believe in them and are willing to help.
